My grandmother has always been an artist. When I was young, I would sit for hours atop a stool during the summers, in Rice Lake, WI, while my grandmother would "paint" the faces of customers in her Merle Norman Cosmetics shop at the mall. She was an artist! Now, with the shop long sold and her hands still willing to work, she has returned to her love of painting. Exploring new methods and mediums and inspiration from her home in Colorado.
I would like to share some of her paintings here, with you. I am in awe of her creativity and artistry.
These paintings are for sale. Oh I think she would be just tickled to see them living on someone else's walls!
But more over, I just wanted to share. I want them simply to be seen. We all dream of being heard, of being seen, for who we are, how we love, what we create.
So here we start our collection... Paintings by Laurie...
The Child: I’d been thinking about doing a child painting for a while in this pose. II was looking through some photos I had made locally from my camera roll, and came across this one of our youngest granddaughter. Perfect shot. -Laurie

Fall Aspens and Summer Blues: Inspiration for Fall Aspens and Summer Blues I received by taking a 3 day oil painting group seminar from a successful Colorado artist. Also the support and encouragement of the other artists in the class helps.--Laurie
